C.H. Robinson’s Fourth-Quarter Income, Revenue Rise

ransportation and logistics firm C.H. Robinson Worldwide late Tuesday reported its fourth-quarter profit rose 50%, with net income rising to $58.1 million or 33 cents a share, from $38.6 million or 22 cents a year earlier.

Total transportation gross profit for the quarter increased 27.5% to $205.9 million.

Truck gross profit rose 25.6% and intermodal gross profit rose 7.6%, , the company said in a statement.



Total revenue for the quarter rose to $1.6 billion for the quarter, from $1.2 billion a year earlier. Transportation revenue rose to $1.3 billion, from $1 billion.

In its international freight forwarding business, ocean gross profits rose 66% and air gross profit rose 124.3% in the quarter, C.H. Robinson said.

For the full year, the company earned $203.4 million or $1.16 a share, up from $137.3 million or 79 cents a year earlier. Total revenue rose to $5.7 billion from $4.3 billion.

C.H. Robinson is ranked No. 14 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of the largest North American logistics companies.
