C.H. Robinson Worldwide Acquires Canadian Forwarder

Transportation and third-party logistics firm C.H. Robinson Worldwide said Monday it has acquired Transera International Holdings Ltd., a project forwarding company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Transera is one of the largest privately owned project forwarders in North America, with annual revenue of about $125 million. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Transera, established in 1985, is a non-asset based global project forwarder that provides North American and international transportation of over-dimensional and heavy-lift shipments.

It has 107 employees in eight offices in Canada, Dubai, Singapore and the United States. Its customers are primarily in the oil, gas, mining and wind power industries.
