C.H. Robinson, Pilot Flying J Debut Phone Apps

C.H. Robinson Worldwide and Pilot Flying J said they have unveiled new phone apps to aid truck drivers.

C.H. Robinson said its CHRWtrucks.com mobile application allows truck drivers to enter pickup and delivery information and check calls with a couple of clicks on smart phones. The app also permits carriers to post empty equipment locations where the freight broker can look for load matches to help fill the empty trucks and slash empty miles.

Pilot Flying J has launched My Pilot, a new iPhone app to help truck drivers find fueling stations.

The new app provides the location of more than 550 Pilot Flying J travel centers in North America and offers a site’s current fuel prices. Pilot Travel Centers launched an iPhone app in 2010. Because Pilot and Flying J merged in June 2010, the combined company said it wanted a new app.
