Celadon Trucking Services said it purchased almost 200 trucks and 300 trailers from Teton Transportation, Knoxville, Tenn.

Terms were not disclosed for the deal, which Celadon described as purchasing a “significant portion” of Teton’s operating equipment. It includes about 180 tractors and 280 trailers.

“Based on our evaluation of the business, we believe Teton had a solid, core group of quality customers and drivers,” said Celadon Trucking Services President and Chief Operating Officer Paul Will.

“We expect to integrate and optimize these customers and drivers within our operations promptly and further improve asset productivity,” he said in a statement late Wednesday.

Celadon Trucking Services is part of Celadon Group, ranked No. 42 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
