Celadon Buys Ohio Truckload Carrier

Celadon Trucking Services said it has agreed to buy operating assets of Ohio truckload carrier Robinson Transport.

Celadon said the purchase will enable it to increase its freight volumes in the Midwest and reinforce its driver pool. Terms were not disclosed.

Robinson Transport president Rick Robinson will join Celadon as vice president of Midwest operations, Celadon said.

Celadon Trucking is a division of Celadon Group Inc. which ranks No. 44 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
