CARB Makes Truck Replacement Grants Available

Six California air districts are accepting applications to fund truck replacement or engine repower projects for Classes 6-8 trucks.

The funding, which can be as much as $50,000, is available for eligible trucks operating primarily in the four high-priority trade corridors: San Francisco Bay Area, Central Valley, Los Angeles/Inland Empire and San Diego/Border.

Among the requirements, replacement trucks will need to be California-plated and have a minimum of 90% California operation. Drayage trucks are not eligible under the program.

Applicants must also demonstrate compliance with the state’s truck-engine emissions requirements through 2014.
