BYD TRUCKS: “HARD AT WORK”
With over 25 years of battery R&D and manufacturing experience, BYD proprietary Iron Phosphate battery systems are the safest, longest lasting, and highest reliability battery systems in the world. BYD is one of the largest global battery manufacturers. BYD Iron Phosphate batteries must pass the most rigorous safety testing, including impact, collision, vibration, short circuit, puncture, and external fire tests, before being approved for BYD vehicle integration. BYD has already invested over $250 million in our North American operations located in Lancaster, California. In addition, BYD has signed a landmark community benefits agreement resulting the creation of hundreds of union manufacturing jobs.
BYD focuses its R&D efforts on advancing its Lithium Iron Phosphate battery technology, delivering the highest standard for safety, longevity and reliability. Our batteries are able to safely and reliably store enough energy to power a truck through a normal work day. Our trucks are hard at work.

Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with its innovator BYD Motors, to deliver Bud Light NEXT, the brand’s first-ever zero carb beer that breaks the barriers of a traditional lager, with zero-emissions. At their distribution facilities, Anheuser-Busch is also adding an additional 20 BYD electric trucks into their California fleet this year. The brewer currently operates 25 BYD trucks across four California distribution centers, 21 of which were deployed in 2020 as part of the Zero- and Near-Zero Freight Facilities/Zero Emission Beverage Handling at Scale project. Zero Emission Beverage Handling and Distribution at Scale is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy and improving public health and the environment – particularly in disadvantaged communities. This year’s fleet expansion is a result of the California HVIP program and continued partnership with the California Air Resources Board and CALSTART to deploy advanced technology that is cleaner and quieter on the road.
“BYD Motors is proud to partner with Anheuser-Busch,” said Patrick Duan, BYD’s Senior Vice President Operations. “As the official sponsor of Mother Nature, BYD manufactures heavy-duty battery-electric trucks that are hard at work every day helping to create a sustainable future in communities across America.”
BYD is the only EV maker to master battery, electric motors & vehicle control technologies. BYD’s proprietary Iron-Phosphate batteries are the heart of our company, providing safe, reliable power to all our vehicles and energy storage systems. Founded in 1995 as a pioneer in battery technology, BYD, is the Official Sponsor of Mother Nature. The BYD mission is to change the world by creating a complete, zero-emission ecosystem powered by clean energy that reduces the world's reliance on petroleum. BYD's innovative products are leaders in multiple sectors, including battery-electric automobiles, buses, medium- and heavy-duty trucks and forklifts; the SkyRail monorail system; solar power generation and energy storage systems; and consumer electronics.
