Bolloré Logistics Canada has launched its first fully electric truck for local deliveries in Montreal, the company announced May 31.

The electric truck travels 124.3 miles a day for five days a week.

Bolloré said this ensures the last-mile delivery from its warehouse in Montreal to various locations within the region. It does run for a large variety of clients including major brands in the cosmetics and luxury industries.

“We are proud to be a CSR pioneer in the Canadian logistics industry,” Bolloré CEO Patrick Lafrance said. “This investment is a proof of our strong commitment for sustainable solutions and aligns with the group’s vision of creating environmentally friendly transport solutions for our clients.”

Lion Electric is the manufacturer of zero-emission vehicles that built the truck. It offers a reduction of 60 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year. Bolloré said the truck contributes to its goal of reducing CO2 emissions from transport services delivered by 30% by 2030. — Transport Topics
