PHILADELPHIA — BestPass Inc., a provider of toll payment and management services, has added a new feature to help fleets catch unplanned toll usage.

The company has introduced user-defined “exclusion zones,” which generate alerts to fleet managers when drivers pay a toll outside of approved parameters set by the carrier.

BestPass customers can define their exclusion zones based on both location and timeframe to monitor usage at toll collection points under the 42 tolling authorities in the company’s nationwide network.

“Our exclusion zone technology and service ensures that lines of communication between fleet managers and drivers remain open and that standards and expectations are clear and being met,” BestPass CEO John Andrews said.

Meanwhile, BestPass continues to expand its toll-management network. The company said it recently added coverage in Florida and Kansas and will add sites in Oklahoma and Texas in early 2016.

It also is collaborating with Detroit International Bridge Co., owner of the Ambassador Bridge, to streamline toll service for trucks using the bridge to cross between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.
