Barrett Distribution Centers has added a second fulfillment center to its Dallas-area footprint with a new Forney facility.

The Massachusetts-based company focuses on warehousing, transportation, distribution and fulfillment services throughout the U.S. Barrett expects the new facility to serve Fortune 100, 500 and 1000 companies and other high-growth e-commerce brands.

The more than 500,000-square-foot fulfillment hub will create 75 jobs initially, and Barrett expects to expand at the site in the future.

Forney is located in the DFW metro area, about 25 miles east of Dallas.

Barrett’s first foray into the region, a shipping hub at Garland Logistics Center, was announced in 2018. The company leased just over 115,000 square feet in the building situated near Interstate 635.

“Our expansion in Dallas is a key component of our broader strategy to reinforce a strong national footprint,” said Barrett SVP Scott Hothem in a statement.
