Auto Haulers, ATA Reaffiliate As Federation Talks to Others

img src="/sites/default/files/images/articles/printeditiontag_new.gif" width=120 align=right>ORLANDO, Fla. - The National Automobile Transporters Association returned to the American Trucking Associations fold last week, as officials of both groups put their signatures on a reaffiliation plan that had been in the works for some time.

It was the most recent, but probably not the last, in a series of association reaffiliations with the national federation, officials said.

David G. McCorkle, who was concluding his year as chairman of ATA, told Transport Topics that the Truck Renting and Leasing Association and four other groups he declined to name were in serious discussions to formally re-establish their positions within the framework of industry groups.
