Atlas World Group Promotes Jim Stamm to CEO

tlas World Group said late Thursday it promoted Jim Stamm to succeed Mike Shaffer as chief executive officer of Atlas’ transportation and relocation services corporation, effective Jan. 1.

Stamm joined Atlas in 1987 as president of Atlas Van Lines’ specialized transportation group. He was named COO of Atlas Van Lines in 1999 and COO of Atlas World Group in 2004.

Shaffer, who has been CEO since 1999, will remain chairman through 2007.

Atlas World Group is ranked No. 25 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
