ATA’s Graves to Chair Highway Users Group

The American Highway Users Alliance has named American Trucking Associations President Bill Graves chairman of the group’s board of directors, effective immediately.

Graves will serve as chairman through the end this year, completing the term of AHUA’s previous chairman Fred Webber, a former president of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, who retired in March.

“It is a great honor that Gov. Graves has agreed to serve as our chairman,” said AHUA President Greg Cohen. “His in-depth knowledge on transportation issues makes him a perfect fit with our organization.”

“I look forward to leading the Highway Users during a time when many transportation experts recognize the need for significant changes to the federal highway program in order to address growing congestion and safety challenges,” Graves said in a statement.

AHUA represents a coalition of motorists, truckers, bus companies ad others who use highways, and the group advocates public policies that ensure highway taxes are used to improve public roadways.
