Truck Fleet Management, a magazine run by Transport Topics Publishing Group to cover work trucks and other medium-duty vehicles, has been sold to Bobit Business Media.

The Nov. 5 announcement was made by TTPG parent American Trucking Associations. The federation did not disclose terms of the sale.

“We are very happy that we were able to find a home for TFM in Bobit that appears to be a perfect fit for their audiences,” ATA Executive Vice President Jeff Mason said.

Truck Fleet Management — previously named Light & Medium Truck — and predecessor P&D (targeted at pickup-and-delivery operators) covered issues relevant to vocational, municipal and construction fleets. That coverage was made available through a monthly magazine, website, weekly digital newsletter and periodic e-mail news alerts.

“We’re excited to add the Truck Fleet Management audience to Bobit’s stable,” said Sherb Brown, Bobit’s vice president and group publisher. The company owns a number of other trucking- and transportation-focused publications and websites.

TTPG also produces Transport Topics, which is not included in the sale.

“This move allows Transport Topics staff to focus on providing industry-leading coverage of the freight transportation industry,” Mason said. “Between the weekly publication, iTECH and Equipment & Maintenance Update supplements, websites and other digital projects, TT will continue to be the authority on freight transportation.”
