ATA to Provide Free Phone Cards for Truck Drivers

merican Trucking Associations and its state affiliates will hand out free 60-minute phone cards to truck drivers during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week Aug. 20-26, the trade group said in a statement.

ATA announced last Thursday it will distribute the calling cards at weight stations, rest stops and travel plazas across the country as part of its “phone home” campaign.

“At a time when the need for deliveries is in such high demand that it’s tough to find enough drivers to fill the seats, I think it’s especially important for us to take a few extra steps to thank those hard working men and women who are keeping this industry rolling,” said Bill Graves, ATA’s chief executive officer.
