n Friday, July 16, ATA, in reacting to the U.S. Court of Appeals (D.C. Circuit) vacating of the new Hours-of-Service ("HOS") rules, stated that it anticipated that the Federal Motor Carrier Administration would work to meet the Court's requirement to consider the impact of the current rule on driver health.

Of course, that is only one option that the FMCSA has; it may alternatively seek reconsideration of the decision by the Court or pursue an appeal of the ruling.

In any event, ATA stands ready to support the agency in the path it chooses and continues to strongly believe that the new rules, by reducing driver fatigue, have a very positive effect on driver health.
