ATA Among EPA SmartWay Award Recipients

LAS VEGAS — American Trucking Associations was one of 37 groups to receive an Environmental Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency here on Oct. 6.

The awards, which honor leadership in conservation and lowering greenhouse gas emissions through the use of EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership, were handed out as part of ATA’s general session on environmental sustainability.

Margo Oge, director of EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality, said the honorees “demonstrate a commitment to a cleaner environment and more secure energy supply.”
