Arrest Made in Truck Burnings

A 22-year-old Waianae man was arrested after trucks at a Honolulu rental company were torched for the second time.

In two incidents in late January, 12 trucks were burned at Penske Truck Leasing and Rental.

flammable liquid was used to set the trucks on fire, police said. Damage is estimated at $270,000.

The torching appears to have been motivated by revenge, according to police. However, they said the man arrested — Nathen Mayural — is not a former employee and is not associated with the Penske firm. He works for a private waste disposal company.
