PNV Inc. will be America Online's trucking site of choice after an April 19 announcement that the Internet giant bought a stake in the trucking Web portal and entertainment firm.
The deal, which PNV termed "a two-year multimillion-dollar agreement," gives AOL an "undisclosed equity stake" in the company, said Steven Yevoli, president of PNV.com in Coral Springs, Fla.
PNV will provide news, traffic reports, weather, load postings and other content in the trucking professionals area of AOL's Workplace Channel. In addition, the company will offer freight-matching and load posting on Netcenter in Netscape, which AOL bought in 1999.
When one of AOL's 22 million subscribers goes to the trucking and logistics area, PNV will provide the information, Yevoli said.
