LK Technologies, which provides mapping and other data to the trucking industry, said it will unveil a new Web-based service during the first quarter of 2007 to help carriers standardize mileage data and to provide additional information on tolls, freight rates and fuel prices.

Known as PC Miler Web Services, the feature will allow carriers to standardize various transactions into one document. Ed Siciliano, ALK’s vice president of sales and marketing, discussed the new service during a Dec. 11 meeting with Transport Topics editors and reporters.

Siciliano said truckload carrier U.S. Xpress Enterprises and the Department of Defense are among the groups currently testing the system.
