ALK Introduces PC Miler Rates

ALK Technologies has introduced PC Miler Rates, a new service that provides shippers, brokers and third-party logistics providers with carrier rate information.

PC Miler Rates, developed in conjunction with transportation management software provider 3GTMS, quickly calculates rates for multiple less-than-truckload and small package carriers to help companies manage their carrier contracts more efficiently, according to ALK.

“Shippers, brokers and 3PLs need to be able to quickly and easily compare rates between carriers to make the best decision for their business,” said Bill Maddox, vice president of sales at ALK, which is part of Trimble.

Users upload their existing carrier contracts into the system, where they are continuously available for immediate calculations.

The software calculates rates based on account tariffs, freight class, total weight and accessorial fees, allowing for more accurate billing, auditing and reconciliation, the company said.
