Ahead of National Truck Driving Championships, State Champs Congratulated

In advance of August’s National Truck Driving Championships, American Trucking Associations congratulated the state champions of Arizona, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nevada, South Carolina and Virginia who will compete in Indianapolis.

“Safety is a priority for all employees in the trucking industry, but especially the 3.4 million professional truck drivers who deliver the goods we rely on each day,” ATA President Bill Graves said. “The National Truck Driving Championships are one of the ways that ATA works to promote safety, and it’s certainly one of the most competitive and fun times of the year. Drivers practice their safe-driving skills, review industry rules and challenge themselves to perform perfect pre-trip inspections — and all of those efforts have an impact on making our highways safer.”

The National Truck Driving Championships will be held Aug. 10-13 at the Indiana Convention Center. Drivers will compete in eight different classes, with one driver winning the title of 2016 National Truck Driving Championships Bendix grand champion.

ATA’s Safety Management Council is hosting this year’s competition.
