Accuride Reports Third-Quarter Profit

Commercial vehicle component manufacturer Accuride Corp. Thursday said it posted a third-quarter profit compared with a loss a year ago, as net sales jumped 42%.

Accuride earned $30.9 million, or compared to a net loss of $33.3 million in 2009. It did not release per-share figures.

Net sales improved to $205.7 million, from $145.2 million last year, Accuride said.

Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were $20.5 million, up from $11.2 million a year ago.

Although still weak compared to average cycle levels, Accuride said its three major segments — North American Class 5-8 vehicles, trailers, and related aftermarkets — showed continued improvement.

Class 8 production rose about 35%, while Class 5-7 and U.S. trailer production rose 31% and 7%, respectively.
