Industry supplier Accuride Corp. announced that it has negotiated a contract with the UAW labor union representing workers at its Rockford, Illinois, plant that will extend into 2019.

Local 718 of the UAW, formally known as the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America, represents nearly 300 workers. The Rockford plant makes brake drums and other components for the trucking industry.

“Accuride greatly appreciates our Rockford associates’ commitment to creating an industry-leading, globally competitive facility,” Accuride CEO Rick Dauch said in a statement. “This shared achievement underscores the talent and dedication of our Rockford team and follows Accuride’s three-year, $61 million investment in new production equipment and process upgrades that is enabling them to achieve world-class quality and operating performance.”

The statement from Evansville, Indiana-based Accuride said the agreement is retroactive to Nov. 18 and will continue until March 25, 2019.

Since last year, the company also has reached long-term contract agreements with the Canadian Auto Workers at the London, Ontario, plant; the U.S. Steelworkers at a Wisconsin facility and UAW at a facility in Pennsylvania.
