ABF Freight Sets 6.9% Rate Increase

Less-than-truckload carrier ABF Freight System said Wednesday it will raise its rates by about 6.9%, starting July 25.

“Rates will increase by about 6.9%, although the effect on specific lanes and shipments will vary,” ABF Freight, a unit of Arkansas Best Corp., said in a statement.

The move follows Friday’s announcement by UPS Freight that it would boost its LTL rates 6.9% beginning Aug. 1.

Arkansas Best Corp. is ranked No. 16 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
