Freightliner Trucks will begin offering Hendrickson Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems’ Haulmaax EX rear rubber suspension system as a part of chassis enhancements for all the truck manufacturer’s vocational M2, SD and Plus models, the component specialist said.

Hendrickson said the Haulmaax EX suspension provides greater versatility for trucks that operate both on- and off-highway. Equalizing beams on the suspension distribute the load equally between both axles to maintain traction in off-road and uneven terrain conditions, it added.

“Customers today expect more out of their vocational suspensions,” said Hendrickson Director of Engineering Ashley Dudding, adding that the latest model increased the job site rating to as much as 75,000 pounds and the suspension rating to as much as 52,000 pounds. Specifications for the EX model’s Haulmaax predecessor topped out at 60,000 pounds and 46,000 pounds, respectively.

This latest deal comes after Hendrickson inked a partnership with Mack Trucks in July 2022. Hendrickson said at the time that Mack TerraPro and LR cabover vehicles would be available for purchase with the EX suspension at authorized Mack dealers. —Transport Topics
