Class 8 Truck Orders Soar
Orders for future deliveries of Class 8 trucks soared in March by nearly 170% over March of 2001, reflecting, at least in part, what one manufacturer called a “frantic” effort by carriers to acquire new power units before federal requirements for lower-emission engines take effect Oct. 1.
