Weekly Jobless Claims Decline by 2,000

Jobless claims declined by 2,000 for the week ended Nov. 9, Bloomberg News reported.

Americans filed 339,000 claims for unemployment benefits last week from a revised 341,000 in the previous week, the Labor Department reported Nov. 14.

The average forecast from economists surveyed by Bloomberg News was a decrease to 330,000 weekly claims.

“All in all, it’s more of the same in the job market,” Ryan Sweet, senior economist at Moody’s Analytics Inc., told Bloomberg. “We’re slowly grinding our way higher.”



The four-week moving average of jobless claims, a less volatile measure, fell to 344,000 last week from 349,750.
