Volvo AB said its North American deliveries fell in February from a year ago, but its worldwide deliveries rose 11%.
Volvo Trucks North America’s February deliveries slipped 2% to 856 units. North American deliveries year-to-date fell 10% to 1,402 units, compared with last year.
Mack Truck’s deliveries fell 4% to 761 in North America, while year-to-date deliveries through February jumped 28% to 1,563 units from a year ago.
“The demand in North America is at a low level due to the overall market situation and the transition to new [2010] emissions technology” regulations, Volvo said Wednesday.
Overall, the Volvo’s truck brands’ deliveries rose 5% worldwide, the Gothenburg, Sweden, company said.
Worldwide deliveries among all Volvo’s brands rose 11% year-over-year. European deliveries fell 19% from a year ago but were up 42% from January.
Volvo AB is the parent company of VTNA, Mack, and the Renault, Nissan Diesel and Eicher truck brands.
