SkyBitz Debuts All-In-One Product to Track Trailers and Cargo Status

SkyBitz has launched a product that combines its trailer tracking device and cargo sensor in a package designed to streamline installation.

The Falcon GXT3100C consists of the SkyBitz GXT3100 cellular tracking device with remote antenna, the SkyBitz cargo sensor and a proprietary mounting bracket.

This “all-in-one” configuration simplifies the installation process and exposes only a small antenna to the outside of the trailer, SkyBitz said.

The company also announced that USA Truck and Fremont Contract Carriers have selected the new tracking product for their fleets under the SkyBitz as a Service subscription-based plan.

“We rely on the SkyBitz cargo sensor to tell us if the trailer was in fact unloaded, reloaded and ready for outbound,” Tim McCormick, chief operating officer at Fremont Contract Carriers, said in the statement. “Not having to send drivers on searches to find trailers and then verify if they’re empty or loaded saves fuel and hours while reducing our driver’s frustration.”

USA Truck, a customer since 2011, recently renewed its fleet with SkyBitz as a Service and installed the Falcon GXT3100C, SkyBitz said.

“We’ve already seen the value of cargo status in addition to location updates from SkyBitz and, with this new product, we’re able to receive even more frequent reporting,” said Russell Overla, executive vice president of truckload operations at USA Truck.
