Woodrome won the Tank Truck class at the 81st annual contest en route to his best-in-show coronation. The competition was held in August in his home state of Ohio. At an awards ceremony, Woodrome praised peers and colleagues committed to promoting safety across the nation’s highways.

“We all work together for safety. And it’s making a difference,” Woodrome told the NTDC audience Aug. 18. “[The competition] truly breeds safety and makes each one of us better each day and every day when we’re on the highways.”

Woodrome, a FedEx Freight driver, has compiled nearly 2 million safe driving miles.

MCE is scheduled for Oct. 27-30 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.

“The meeting agenda includes a range of policy and legislative issues affecting the industry, including hours of service, workforce development, trade, infrastructure funding and much more,” ATA President Chris Spear said. “Attendees will have the opportunity to contribute to the conversation and share their opinions in committee meetings held throughout the conference, helping lay the groundwork for ATA’s priorities in 2019 and beyond.”
