Marten Reports Record Fourth-Quarter Profit

Marten Transport’s fourth-quarter profit jumped almost 50% to a record, on higher logistics and truckload revenue.

Net income rose to $7.7 million, or 35 cents per share, from $5.2 million, or 24 cents, a year ago. The profit was the highest for any quarter in the company’s history.

Revenue rose 15.9% to $158.3 million, the refrigerated truckload carrier said in a statement.

Full-year net income rose to $24.3 million, or $1.10 per share, from $19.7 million, or 90 cents, a year ago. Re venue rose 16.8% to $603.7 million.
