Connected traffic technology company LYT announced its emergency vehicle pre-emption (EVP) feature now is integrated with HAAS Alert’s safety cloud and is intended to better inform traffic signals and other motorists of approaching emergency vehicles.

HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud collision prevention feature delivers real-time notifications from active emergency vehicles to nearby motorists over cellular networks.

Known as LYT.emergency, the EVP produces a consistent and reliable green light for every emergency vehicle “more affordably than other products on the market” according to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company’s release.

These features harness the power of a single secure data-transmitting edge device installed in traffic management centers that enables emergency vehicles to speak directly to networked traffic signals in cities through the LYT.speed cloud platform. — Transport Topics
