IMC Global Solutions, a member of the IMC Companies family of brands, has acquired Global Shippers Association, a leader in the import of home furnishings.

IMC, a national network of intermodal logistics businesses, ranks No. 90 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada. The acquisition will more than double the size of IGS.

“For some time, we have been seeking out opportunities to expand our reach and customer base,” IGS president Mason George said. “GSA presented a prime opportunity to purchase a company whose customers fully appreciate the value of shipping with an efficiencies-focused logistics expert.”

GSA customers will have access to the suite of services offered by the IMC family of brands, including customs house brokerage, truck brokerage and access to more than 1,500 drivers.

GSA will continue to operate as an association with the same leadership team and will continue to be dedicated to the import of home furnishings.

“We are pleased to welcome into our family a like-minded organization that focuses on maximizing efficiencies, providing competitive value and superior customer service,” said IMC Chairman Mark George.
