ATLANTA — Hendrickson introduced a heavier-duty version of its Haulmaax rubber suspension at the North American Commercial Vehicle Show here.

The Haulmaax EX is available in capacities of 40,000, 46,000, and 52,000 pounds, and offers a site rating of up to 70,000 pounds on the 52,000-pound version, the company announced Oct. 29 during a press briefing at the show.

“This is brand-new — right out of the gate, a very durable product,” said Hendrickson CEO Gary Gerstenslager during the briefing. “It’s a derivative of what’s been out there, but I think it fits very well into our portfolio.”

That portfolio includes the Haulmaax V, the predecessor to the EX which — like the EX — features a design with center-mounted load springs that are tapered differently from the company’s other suspension products, “for better ride and articulation,” Gerstenslager said.

The Haulmaax line debuted in 2004, the company said.
