Brother Mobile Solutions Inc. has introduced a new wireless mobile printer that connects to smartphones, tablets and personal computers across iOS, Android and Windows operating systems.

The PocketJet 7 allows drivers and field service personnel to print full-page documents anywhere without needing additional software or operating system drivers.

“This product represents a huge step forward in smart mobile technologies and is yet another first-to-market innovation for Brother,” David Crist, president of Brother Mobile Solutions in Broomfield, Colorado, said in an Oct. 7 statement.

Ravi Panjwani, vice president of marketing and product management, said the new printer removes the last obstacles of mobile platform compatability and connectivity.

“Professionals can print from any iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, smartphone, tablet or PC, and in just about any physical configuration that a customer’s work environment requires — mounted in a vehicle, transportable to a job site, carried in a case or simply stowed in a backpack,” he said. “Plus, there are no ink cartridges, ribbons or toners to deal with. In short, users are now free to print anytime and anywhere.”

Brother Mobile Solutions is a subsidiary of Brother International Corp.
