Existing Home Sales Slip in May

Existing home sales declined 1.5% in May, the National Association of Realtors said Tuesday.

Sales fell to an annual rate of 4.55 million-unit annual rate, the group said.

The level was slightly below economists’ forecasts of a 4.57 million rate, Bloomberg reported.

Sales of single-family homes fell 1 % to an annual rate of 4.05 million, while multifamily units fell 5.7, to a 500,000 pace.
