Americold Completes Purchase of Another Georgia Facility

Temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics company Americold has wrapped up the purchase of a storage facility that bolsters its Georgia-based network to 15 facilities.

“We’re fortunate to be supporting some very successful food producers and retailers who are rapidly expanding throughout the Southeast. They needed additional dedicated capacity and challenged us to become their provider of choice,”Americold CEO Fred Boehler said of the East Point acquisition.

Americold owns and operates more than 185 temperature-controlled warehouses, with upward of 1 billion cubic feet of storage in Australia, Argentina, Canada, China, New Zealand and the United States, according to the company.

Americold Logistics ranks No. 10 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of the largest logistics companies in North America.
