YRC Folding USF Bestway Unit Into USF Reddaway

Less-than-truckload carrier YRC Regional Transportation said late Monday that its USF Bestway and USF Reddaway units will consolidate into one organization under the USF Reddaway brand.YRC Regional Transportation is a unit of YRC Worldwide, formerly Yellow Roadway Corp., which acquired USF Corp. in 2005. (Click here for previous coverage.)USF Reddaway will provide service to states in the Rocky Mountains, Gulf Coast and the West and to several western Canadian provinces, YRC said.The company named T.J. O’Connor the new chief executive officer of USF Reddaway. He will be based in Clackamas, Ore. O’Connor has been CEO of USF Bestway for the past year and previously spent 23 years at YRC unit Roadway Express.Ed Fitzgerald, who led USF Reddaway since 2004, will leave the company, YRC said.YRC Regional Transportation is comprised of USF Holland, USF Reddaway, USF Glen Moore and New Penn Motor Express. USF Holland will cover Kansas and will expand its coverage in Arkansas and Mississippi, acquiring three USF Bestway facilities in those areas. USF Glen Moore and New Penn will not be affected by the reorganization.YRC Worldwide is ranked No. 3 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of North American for-hire carriers.
