Wabco Acquires Laydon Composites

Commercial vehicle supplier Wabco Holdings Inc. has acquired Laydon Composites Ltd., a manufacturer of aerodynamic devices for heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

Terms were not disclosed but Wabco said Oakville, Ontario-based LCL generated revenues of about C$25 million in 2015.

Brussels-based Wabco said the acquisition expands its market access to North America through LCL’s sales network and customer relationships in the region.

Also, Wabco said its global presence provides those customers with increased access to LCL products.



Among LCL’s products are collapsible air fairings that improve air flow over tractor the cab, Wabco said.

He added: “Together, we offer commercial vehicle fleets in international markets the most comprehensive portfolio of aerodynamic products to help them improve operating efficiency and comply with stringent environmental regulations.”
