Volvo’s North American Deliveries Rise 13% in August

Volvo Group’s North American truck deliveries rose 13% in August from the same month last year, the company reported Sept. 17.

North American deliveries rose to 4,416 trucks from 3,903 a year ago, Gothenberg, Sweden-based Volvo Group reported.

Volvo Trucks’ deliveries increased 22% in North America to 2,730, while Mack Trucks’ deliveries rose 2% to 1,678 trucks.

Deliveries of its Renault Trucks brand were flat, with one sold in North America, and UD Trucks declined 13% to seven.



Volvo Group’s worldwide deliveries for all of its brands increased 3% to 12,116 trucks, while its heavy-duty deliveries also rose 3% to 10,637.

South American deliveries plunged 43% to 872, European deliveries increased 28% to 3,904 and Asian deliveries dipped 8% to 1,863.

Year to date, Volvo has delivered 43,057 trucks to the North American market, a 17% increase from the prior year. Worldwide deliveries this year increased 3% to 131,641 trucks, according to the company.

Volvo Group makes Volvo and Mack trucks in North America and includes the UD Trucks and Renault Trucks brands worldwide.
