Volvo Trucks to Take Restructuring Charge

Volvo Trucks announced on Tuesday the details of a restructuring charge related to the reorganization of its global businesses.

Volvo said late last year it would restructure its global truck business effective Jan. 1, organizing it into three geographic segments.

The announcement said that about $92 million of the total $140 million charge would be recognized in its fourth-quarter earnings, with the balance in the first half of this year.

Volvo Trucks is part of Sweden-based Volvo AB, which is also the parent company of Mack Trucks.
