Volvo Reports Increased North American Sales

olvo AB said that its deliveries through August rose 20%, helped by growth in its Mack Truck unit in North America, Bloomberg reported Monday.

Deliveries rose to 137,982 units from 115,437 trucks a year earlier, Volvo said. North American deliveries rose 43%, to 42,043 trucks, with Mack units rising 55% to 23,675.

Volvo Chief Executive Officer Leif Johansson said in July that North American heavy-truck sales may grow more than 20% this year, boosting earlier forecasts of 15% to 20%.
