SF Corp. said Tuesday that Richard DiStasio, chairman and chief executive officer, was leaving the company. DiStasio also resigned his position from the board, the company said.

USF said in a statement it named Paul Liska as executive chairman and Thomas Bergmann as interim chief executive officer. USF said it would conduct a nationwide search for a successor.

Both appointments are effective immediately.

"We believe the management changes being undertaken are in the best interests of the company's shareholders," Liska said.

The company said last week its third-quarter profits declined to $12.1 million or 43 cents per share, from $13.1 million 48 cents, due to higher costs associated with the closure of its USF Red Star unit.

USF is ranked No. 12 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian trucking companies. Transport Topics
