U.S. Trade Deficit Grew in August

The U.S. trade deficit grew by 4.1% in August, the Commerce Department said Thursday.

The gap between imports and exports increased to $44.2 billion, from $42.5 billion in July.

Economists had projected a $44 billion deficit, Bloomberg reported.

Imports decreased 0.1% to $225.5 billion, while exports decreased 1% to $181.3 billion.
