UPS Unveils Cloud-Based Technology

UPS Inc. announced a new cloud-based platform it said will better enable customers to collaborate with international suppliers.

UPS Order Watch will allow the entire supply chain — from ocean carriers to trucking companies — to view the same information rather than relying on exchanging files at every step.

The program, unveiled this week, is hosted remotely and includes near real-time shipment status, eliminating separate e-mail communication and recordkeeping by customers.

The new platform will be available starting early next year, the company said.

UPS Inc. is ranked No. 1 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
