PS on Thursday announced it is expanding its Trade Direct service to Japan.

Trade Direct, which UPS debuted in 2002, combines air or ocean freight transportation and customs clearance with package and less-than-truckload service, speeding delivery by allowing shipments to bypass warehouses and distribution centers.

Trade Direct Air will serve the inbound Japanese market through Osaka and Tokyo, while Trade Direct Ocean will move through the Japanese ports of Kobe and Tokyo.

UPS is ranked No. 1 on the Transport Topics 100 list of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
