Many repercussions on transportation from the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, that fateful morning of Sept. 11, 2001 can be seen in this Sept. 17 edition of Transport Topics.

The issue also features a harrowing account of American Trucking Associations economists Bob Costello and Diego Saltes who were having breakfast in a hotel next to the first tower to be hit by a jetliner and were two blocks away when the second tower was hit. Former TT publisher Howard Abramson and circulation director Paul Rosenthal also happened to be in New York for a conference and were witnesses to the devastation and chaos that ensued.
