Dual-chip Architecture For Mobile Devices
Owners of handheld devices with a dual-processor architecture can enjoy more processing power and greater battery life than those with general-purpose processors. The bridge architecture of the dual-chip device can split tasks up between the general-purpose processor and the digital signal processor, boosting efficiency. This partitioning is especially important for products that need to meet the power requirements of streaming video and real-time, multimedia applications.
