Truck Stops Considered Vital Allies In Homeland War Against Terrorism

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — American Trucking Associations security expert Jeffrey K. Beatty said Feb. 15 that truck stop operators and their employees could help ATA develop its anti-terrorist action plan by identifying vulnerable points and offering solutions.

Beatty appeared by videotape at a truck stop security seminar for Natso Inc. during the organization’s annual meeting. Natso is the national organization of truck stop owners.

ATA Chairman David G. McCorkle introduced the tape and said ATA and Natso should work together to educate truckers and truck stop employees about combating terrorism.
